Los Angeles American Indian Health Project
The Health Project was designed and implemented in 1996 to enhance the health and well being of the American Indian community in Metropolitan Los Angeles. The Health Project provides public health services including access to health care depending on level of need for registered clients. The primary program services are comprehensive case-management, public health nursing, providing access to health services and prevention education.

Public Health Services
• Health assessment and screenings by a Public Health nurse.
• Education and prevention programs for hypertension, diabetes, obesity and HIV prevention.
• Screening and access for immunizations for children ages 0-18 years. Tuberculosis screening and flu immunization for adults / high risk clients.
Access to Primary Care and Specialty Care
The health Project has established agreements with various community clinics and providers for medical, dental and specialty care. The Case Management staff works with each client to determine their needs and the most appropriate location for services.

Los Angeles American Indian Clinic
Provides general health care services, acute illness treatment, medication renewal, physical examinations, pregnancy testing, STD/STI detection and treatment, pap smears, mammogram referrals, and contraception prescriptions.
The clinic is open on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:00am-4:30pm.

Culturally Sensitive services for American Indian Community
Health Project case managers and health care staff serve as liaisons between clients and various health care providers, advocating for services to be provided in a culturally sensitive manner.
The Nike N7 Shoe
Nike has designed a shoe to fit the special needs of American Indians and was developed specifically to fit our foot shape. The shoe's design also draws inspiration directly from Native American culture.
