Central High School
Central High School offers a complete, rigorous academic curriculum for a high school diploma that is individualized to each student's needs and interests.
Central High School is a 4-hour voluntary instructional program. This program provides course work and academic testing required by LAUSD to earn a high school diploma. Regular hours of instruction are from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Students should be at least 15 years of age and may be older than 18 on a case by case basis. LAUSD requires 230 credits for graduation. The goal is to make up credits to gain a high school diploma. Students may then return to their home school at grade level or continue in our program to gain their diploma. We encourage all students to attend after school and Saturday classes at nearby academic and career training institutions. We will provide information and placement assistance. Our program includes:
| Academic Counseling and transcript evaluation |
| College and Career Placement including GED and ROP programs |
| Health and cultural enrichment
programs for our youth and their families |
| Work Experience Service Learning and Independent Study |
| Job Readiness placement & assistance |
| University
tutoring and teaching partnerships |
