The mission of the Robert Sundance Winter Youth Gathering is to provide an outdoor experience that enhances the growth and well-being of American Indian youth, in a manner that is respectful to cultural values and focuses on personal development and education.
We accomplish this by hosting a Young Men's and Young Women's Winter Gathering for our teen groups. Youth are selected through UAII's Los Angeles, Fresno and Bakersfield youth programs.
Participants are offered the opportunity to ski/snowboard at Mammoth Mountain - a premier alpine resort, participant in cultural activities, and attend workshops on topic like: Substance Abuse Prevention, Healthy Lifestyle Choices, Culture/Tradition, Public Health Education, Career Development, Educational Options, Teen Dating, and Domestic Violence.
